I am almost finished reading the Bishop’s Statement on the Polity of the Episcopal Church. Pending a major reversal on the last few pages, I believe that it is an important document that every one of my 2.6 readers should download and study. The text is found here:

The lines of battle are shifting; and, for the first time, I believe that the PB and her minions are feeling the full brunt of the doctrine, tradition, history and canon law as wielded by those who really know what about what they speak. There is no frenzied, emotional plea for understanding or compassion that flies in the face of thousands of years of accepted ecclesiology and theology. Here is a reasoned, accurate policy statement endorsed by men whose opinions carry the weight of Apostolic Succession.
I am still an Anglo-Papist. I still like the idea of a hierarchy that is steeped in and regulated by an unshakable Doctrine of Faith. I do not like the idea of a cult of personality built around the transitory rantings of a Unitarian, post-Modernist Deacon with delusions of grandeur.
To paraphrase a former (ugh) President: “It’s the Doctrine, stupid!”
